ABSTRACT:
An alarming number of data breaches have occurred as a result of data exposed within test or pre-production environments. Data is often simply copied from production databases and used directly for application testing and development resulting in large volumes of private data accumulating on unprotected servers and workstations. This can cause a very high risk of personal and confidential data leakage and subsequent data breaches resulting in monetary fines and damages that negatively affect business reputation, revenue and shareholder value.
Voltage Security offers a data encryption solution with its Format Preserving Encryption (FPE) which uses an existing, proven encryption algorithm (AES) to protect data in a way that does not alter the data format. Because of this Voltage SecureData provides highly efficient, robust data protection that can typically be implemented with a fraction of the effort - and cost - of competing systems because the data structures are preserved in the test environment.
