ABSTRACT:
The Federal Desktop Core Configuration (FDCC) is the culmination of a new way of looking at vulnerability management. At first glance, the scope and cost of implementing this standard may appear daunting, but once implemented the substantial time and cost savings more than offset the initial investment. Furthermore, implementing the standard brings additional benefits such as reducing the risk of attack because the systems are more secure.
As the government and other oversight organizations see the benefits, it is expected that additional mandates regarding operating systems and applications will not be far behind. Organizations that aggressively embrace implementation of the FDCC will find themselves in a far better position to easily move to more rigorous standards as the standards become mandated. Working with a partner like Persystent Technologies, a company that can provide not only the necessary technical tool in Persystent Enterprise but a significant depth of desktop configuration knowledge, enables your organization to achieve the FDCC standard far more easily, more quickly, and with lower costs.
