In early 2005, Money Mailer set out to find a data protection platform to preserve 2 TBs of data storage. They chose BakBone's NetVault: Backup Data Protection. Money Mailer installed BakBone's NetVault: Backup along with its Microsoft SQL Server and Exchange Application Plug-in Modules (APMs). Performance has been flawless, enabling Money Mailer to reap immediate benefits. In particular, BakBone's ease of use garners high marks, as its simple, graphical user interface, policy automation and cadre of reporting tools substantially streamline daily management of backup and recovery operations. With BakBone's NetVault: Backup in place, Money Mailer no longer experiences problems backing up and recovering Microsoft Exchange data. Money Mailer runs an Active/Active Exchange cluster on a Fibre Channel SAN to ensure the highest levels of availability. Money Mailer also takes advantage of BakBone's Virtual Disk Library to accelerate regular backups and restores. As a result, full backups now take about 36 hours instead of the 96 hours required by BrightStor. However, the most telling testament to BakBone's performance improvements took place when Money Mailer's lynchpin file server that stores all production art experienced a catastrophic hardware failure, bringing operations to a standstill.
