ABSTRACT:
The hand off of applications from Applications Development to IT Operations is often a struggle for enterprise IT shops. Applications Development, with their focus on customer satisfaction and aligning with business, wants it to be easy to change the production environment. A primary focus of IT Operations is on protecting the production environment and is often reluctant to introduce changes that could potentially introduce instability. Organizations wanting to reduce the costs associated with putting changes into production, improve end-user satisfaction and business alignment, all the while reducing risks to the business caused by application failures, need to bridge this App Dev/IT Ops divide. These organizations need Release Management. This Webinar will explore the complexities of enterprise release management, and look at best practices for addressing this complex issue.

David Parker is Serena's Director of Product Marketing for application lifecycle management solutions. In this capacity he manages Serena's distributed and mainframe product lines, helping to define development priorities, go-to-market strategies and marketing programs. Mr. Parker joined Serena following the acquisition of Merant, where he spent more than 10 years in Asia as Director and Regional Vice President in Singapore. He has more than 15 years of experience in the application lifecycle management field.
Benny Westeadt

Benny Westeadt has 13 years of experience in Software Change Management and Process architecture for large banks and consumer product companies, handling Mainframe, windows, Unix, and AS400. Since 2003, Benny founded PSW Consulting and has served as chief process architect for several large international clients.
Mark Levy

Mark joined Serena Software in February of 2007 and has over 20 years experience in the enterprise software industry. Prior to joining Serena, Mark spent 5 years at BMC Software where he was responsible for defining, delivering and managing several product lines as well as driving new initiatives in BMC's Business Service Management strategy. Mark also spent 10 years at Candle Corp. (acquired by IBM in 2004), where he held product management and development positions providing availability and performance management solutions to the global 2000 marketplace. Earlier in his career, Mark held senior technical I.T. positions at Litton Computer Services, a leading provider of enterprise-wide information and services. His background includes software development and management experience in mainframe, distributed systems and applications.
