ABSTRACT:
The Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) applies to every organization that processes credit or debit card information, including merchants and third-party service providers. The launch of PCI DSS has helped to expose serious security shortcomings, companies' failure to follow security best practice, and a general lack of awareness of the threats facing organizations today. The IBM System i (AS/400) presents its own unique set of challenges when it comes to PCI compliance.
This whitepaper examines how the standard relates to the System i (AS/400). When applicable, specific operating systems commands and configuration settings are provided. It also outlines technologies that can provide a solution to specific requirements in the PCI DSS standard.
