Catbird V-Agent : Real Security for the Virtual World
Although virtualization is now officially mainstream, industry pundits are cautioning against a rush to virtualize without considering the security implications of doing so. Traditional security architectures and products are inadequate for this new topology.
This white paper describes such security challenges and their potential solutions, addressing best practices to secure virtualized environments within a hosted or enterprise data center.
Particular attention will be paid to the issues of securing the host or Hypervisor; monitoring guest operating systems; and protecting the virtual network itself. The benefits of deploying a virtual security network agent along with a process-oriented approach to implementing real security in virtual environments will be highlighted. The natural synergy between security as a service and the flexibility of virtualized architectures is also described.
