Case Study: Yellow Pages Group Canada

Cover
At the new YellowPages.ca, users can search by keyword or phrase, and quickly navigate a structured result set with pre-determined categories such as: Cuisine, Payment Methods, and Hours of Operation, allowing them to easily locate and compare advertiser services. It also includes an expanded universe of information. Not only does it provide information from publicly available URLs like other search engines, it also puts its proprietary data at the disposal of users, including paid advertisements, business profiles, menus, maps, and more.

To achieve this result, Coveo Enterprise Search crawls hundreds of thousands of advertiser websites and PDF files that result in millions of indexed documents. From there, advanced rules and algorithms leverage the powerful CES query language to analyze the indexed information and automatically extract the categories into key content buckets.
