ABSTRACT:
The health care industry is at a critical juncture. There is an increased demand for quality patient care while at the same time there's a requirement to reduce budgets and staffing. There's an unprecedented adoption of new systems and technologies aimed to increase productivity while minimizing patient related errors. However, existing health care network infrastructures are unable to service the mobility and connectivity requirements of today's applications. Physical constraints associated with the limitations of wired networks can be a barrier to the real-time service and information requirements in a healthcare environment. The right wireless networking infrastructure can remove these barriers.
This white paper highlights the features and benefits of a reliable and secure wireless infrastructure for the health care industry and provides an overview of the many applications that are enabled by WLAN technology.
