Alcatel 5020 CSC: Call Session Controller | Release 4.1
sponsored by Alcatel

The Alcatel 5020 Call Session Controller (CSC) Release 4 is central to the IP multimedia subsystem (IMS)-compliant Alcatel 5020 Softswitch multimedia end-to-end architecture. Providing services such as personal phone line, fixed or converged video telephony and more advanced multimedia services, the Alcatel 5020 CSC works closely with other products at the application level.

Intended for trials only, the Alcatel 5020 CSC Release 4.0 demonstrated the service capabilities of an IMS-compliant CSC but lacked the scaling required for a commercial release. Designed to scale for commercial IMS-compliant deployments, Release 4.1 also introduces two major new functions: the integrated feature server (IFS) and the breakout gateway control function (BGCF). These functions expand the commercial solutions that can be built on top of the Alcatel 5020 CSC. Material available for viewing or download may have been prepared before the merger of Alcatel and Lucent Technologies and may not reflect the new Alcatel-Lucent identity.
