ABSTRACT:
Providing end to end service assurance of MPLS VPNs requires a four step process for monitoring and management that includes:
- Manage the network pipes
- Manage the classes of service in the pipes
- Manage the applications driving network usage for each
class of service
- Extend management to the end user perspective
This paper describes how a network and voice management solution delivers four key benefits which allow operations teams to meet these challenges. This approach provides operations staff an integrated fault and performance solution for converged voice and data networks, including the ability to manage both IPT and legacy voice infrastructures. Operations teams are provided with effective service level management, rapid problem identification, proactive service assurance, and predictive capacity planning.
