ABSTRACT:
The client has a web based order handling and service fulfillment system for its VPN and internet access services and it is a key component of IP VPN OSS stack. This system, interfaces with many other applications and holds the dictating power with respect to changes in VPN stack. This system was being developed and maintained in the UK at three different locations. The client's decision to choose this project for Infosys to off-shore was to a large extent driven by the problem of team integration, inflexible resourcing (variable workstack) and cost reductions.

Relationship with Infosys brought in the possibility of:

  • co-located team organization keeping SDLC associations in mind than functionality based geographic spread
  • still maintaining a good demarcation between Development and Testing, and
  • Savings through outsourcing/off-shoring
