ABSTRACT:
The rapidly increasing volumes of data and applications have caused IT administrators to scramble in order to provide organizations with adequate storage capacity. Additionally, IT administrators are faced with the costly task of effective storage management.
Microsoft VDS is a storage management application that enables administrators to manage volumes across heterogeneous disk arrays from a single point of control, and create flexible scripting to automate routines. Coupled with the benefits of QLogic SANSurfer, a wizard based graphical user interface (GUI) IT administrators are able to gain further usability.
This White Paper explores the cost-effective solution of combining Microsoft VDS and QLogic SANSurfer, in order to streamline the storage management process and help to lower the overall TCO.
