The Disk - Disk - Tape solution from Atempo and Quantum provides customers with a fully integrated Information Lifecycle management solution. This solution brings disk-based speed to the initial data acquisition. The solution also supports a breadth of applications and databases including: Oracle, SAP, SQL, Exchange, DB2 and Sybase.
Disk based backups can be staged to a Quantum DX30 or DX100 for online activity. Then based on policies, migrated to another DX system for nearline data support and/or archived to tape for future use.
The solution provides support for simultaneous asynchronous multiple data streams -up to (4) devices (tape and/or disk) at the same time. This same feature would be used to clone the backup data to tape for offsite purposes.
