ABSTRACT:
Utilities face increased pressures in today's competitive telecom market. In an
environment of limited capital and shifting business strategies, they are not
only charged with serving the basic energy needs of their customers, but, are
also being asked to create additional revenue by selling unused capacity on
their telecommunications infrastructure to other service providers.
In order to increase profitability, these companies must improve operations
while cost-effectively managing and, in many cases, upgrading outdated
infrastructure systems.
Eastern Research has developed a Multiservice Access Concentrator platform
that can cost-effectively solve many of these problems. Its DNX Series
combines the functionality of a digital switch, multiple CSUs, and multiplexers, all within a small, scalable, and highly reliable platform.
