Blazent deploys a small data collection agent to each laptop, desktop, and server that an IT department wants to measure. The Blazent Agent is a small program that collects usage and inventory information from the system that it is measuring. It is designed to be 100% transparent to the user – both on installation and in everyday use – and to be robust and lightweight. It causes zero degradation of system and network performance. The agent then sends data back to a Blazent Collection Server, which catalogs and stores the data in the Blazent Data Warehouse.
