Product Description
The Notes version of Communité is designed for organizations that have standardized on Lotus Notes® as their e-mail platform. A Communité for Notes installation generally consists of:
A Lotus® Domino server. Communité for Notes makes use of the Domino LDAP directory server (the Notes address book) to store information about users, groups, preferences, and permissions. Installing the Communité for Notes system automatically creates the additional user attributes in the Domino LDAP directory required for unified communications capabilities. A graphical interface also allows end-users to maintain their preferences and other personal information without assistance from the IT department.
A Notes server. Communité for Notes stores voice mail messages and faxes in each user's e-mail inbox. Voice mail messages are stored as highly compressed audio recordings attached to e-mail messages. Faxes are likewise stored as e-mail attachments.
One or more Windows® 2000 servers running the Interaction Center Platform software. These servers also generally contain voice-processing boards that can be connected to the corporate PBX or public telephone network in order to handle incoming calls. Each server can handle hundreds of simultaneous phone calls.
